Jeep SUV Lineup

How many automakers can you think of that make SUVs exclusively? We don’t think it’s a coincidence that Jeep SUVs are some of the most varied and dependable SUVs in Vancouver, Calgary, and Edmonton. Jeep’s vehicles are relied upon by so many drivers because of their history of dependability and practicality, and this diverse lineup has something for everyone.

The Legacy of Jeep SUVs

When people hear the name “Jeep,” they think of an SUV, the Wrangler, and we hope that when people hear “SUV,” their first thought is of a Jeep. The original vehicle that inspired the new legendary Wrangler was the prototype Bantam BRC in 1941, making Jeep vehicles some of the oldest four-wheel drive SUVs. Over the following decades, the Jeep would become the main light SUV of the US Army before becoming the go-to vehicle for drivers who need to get stuff done. Since 1987 the Wrangler has been the flagship Jeep, but the line has expanded greatly and now brings that same level of dependability to over half a dozen vehicles.

2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Drivers looking for a midsize SUV that’s capable of doing a bit of everything need look no further than the 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The well-appointed cabin of this five-passenger SUV ranges from advanced yet practical features to the positively luxurious, with five trim levels to help you find the Grand Cherokee for you.

  • Under the hood of the standard Grand Cherokee is a 3.6L V6 engine with 295 hp and 260 lb.-ft. of torque.
  • Upgrade to the 3.0L diesel V6 for an output of 240 hp and 420 lb.-ft. of torque for added towing potential. The 5.7L VVT V8 kicks out 360 hp and 390 lb.-ft. of torque, and the 6.4L SRT HEMI is good for 475 hp and 470 lb.-ft. of torque.
  • Drivers of the Jeep Grand Cherokee can tow as much as 3,356 kg, making this an ideal vehicle for weekend adventures, especially with the available four-wheel drive.

There’s a reason this is the most awarded SUV ever; see it with a test drive.

2016 Jeep Cherokee

Not everyone needs the fully loaded Grand Cherokee, and Jeep has an answer to drivers who love that SUV but don’t have a need for the power: the 2016 Jeep Cherokee.

  • Like its bigger sibling, this crossover SUV seats five passenger, offering four trim levels (there’s no SRT for the Cherokee).
  • While the 2016 Cherokee has plenty of off-road capability, it’s just as comfortable in the city or on the daily commute.
  • A 2.4L four-cylinder powers the crossover with 184 hp and 171 lb.-ft. of torque, but a 3.2L V6 with 271 hp and 239 lb.-ft. of torque is available as well.
  • Both engines have front- or four-wheel drive available, and when properly equipped, the Cherokee can tow up to 2,041 kg.

Between the Cherokee and the Grand Cherokee, Jeep has the family-and-work-friendly crossover covered.

2016 Jeep Renegade

Some drivers love the feeling of driving an SUV or a truck, but others desire a more car-like ride. The 2016 Jeep Renegade translates the adventure and style of a Jeep to a car-like crossover.

  • This five-passenger subcompact crossover comes in four different trim levels, and don’t worry, despite its car-like handling, there are still four-wheel drive models like the Trailhawk.
  • The Renegade has two engine options: a basic 1.4L turbocharged four-cylinder with 160 hp and 184 lb.-ft. of torque and a 2.4L four-cylinder with 180 hp and 175 lb.-ft. of torque.
  • Choose between a six-speed manual transmission or a nine-speed automatic, and know that when properly equipped, the Renegade can tow up to 907 kg.

As a subcompact crossover, the Renegade claims its status as family vehicle for the family thats always on the go.

2016 Jeep Wrangler

It’s the vehicle everyone thinks of when they hear “Jeep,” and for good reason. The 2016 Jeep Wrangler is available in three main trim levels, but like with every model year, there are many Special Edition Wrangler models available as well.

  • Take advantage of a 285-hp 3.6L V6 engine under the hood, capable of towing up to 907 kg
  • Standard four-wheel drive gives you the confidence to go off-road at a moment’s notice
  • Seating for up to four passengers lets you bring friends along for the adventure
  • Removable panels and windows deliver the ultimate open-air driving experience

The basic Wrangler is rugged, but if you need high-tech connectivity features or durable and comfortable leather upholstery, you’ll find it on the upper trim levels.

2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

Drivers who want the open-air options, four-wheel drive power, and rugged versatility of the Wrangler but need more in the way of seating, there’s a Jeep SUV for you: the 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Take everything that you love about the classic wrangler and expand it:

  • Upgrade to four doors from the Wrangler’s two
  • Seat as many as five passengers in a Wrangler Unlimited
  • Find unique accents, like tubular sidesteps, on upper Unlimited trims
  • Tow as much as 1,587 kg and take advantage of a more spacious cargo area

Like the standard Wrangler, a dependable V6 powers the Wrangler Unlimited.

2016 Jeep Compass

The 2016 Jeep Compass takes a proud spot as one of the most affordable crossover vehicles on the market, borrowing looks from the Grand Cherokee and pairing them with an engine that remains capable yet efficient.

  • With two main trim levels (Sport and Latitude) and two sub-trims (Sport SE and High Altitude), Jeep gives drivers a variety of options on this sporty small crossover.
  • Under the hood is a 2.0L four-cylinder with 158 hp and 141 lb.-ft. of torque with the choice of five-speed manual or continuously variable transmissions.
  • Drivers seeking an all-wheel drive option will find it with the 2.4L engine, kicking out 172 hp and 165 lb.-ft. of torque with the choice of a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.
  • When properly equipped, this Jeep can tow as much as 907 kg of cargo.

An excellent starter SUV or second family vehicle, the affordability and variety make it a top choice in its class.

2016 Jeep Patriot

As with the Compass, the 2016 Jeep Patriot is remarkably affordable, standing out as the Jeep SUV for drivers on a budget. Holding up to five passengers and featuring two engine options, the Patriot is capable and customizable.

  • Two trim levels and two sub-trims are available, with the Sport and Latitude trims evolving into the Sport SE or High Altitude models respectively.
  • The Patriot shares engines with the Compass, with the standard 158-hp 2.0L four-cylinder capable of 141 lb.-ft. of torque and featuring front-wheel drive.
  • The 2.4L four-cylinder again delivers 172 hp and 165 lb.-ft. of torque, and drivers can have it with front-wheel drive or the Freedom Drive I or II all-wheel drive systems.
  • With proper equipment, the Patriot can tow up to 907 kg.

The Patriot is one of the few crossovers that truly delivers on the combination of SUV-like capabilities and car-like handling – but what else would you expect from a Jeep.
