What Will Replace the Jeep Patriot in 2017?

The new 2017 replacement will be a fusion between the current Patriot and Compass, blending them with some of the best features of the Renegade. This will offer a more rugged off-road option for drivers who want their crossover to do more than just haul groceries.

It is suspected that Jeep will be powering the new crossover with the Renegade’s 1.4L MultiAir 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine that generates 160-hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. There are also whispers that the 2.0L turbocharged gasoline engine may be included in the lineup, but Jeep has offered no confirmation on that yet.

What is known is that the new Patriot replacement will be built upon the FWD platform that is currently used by the popular Renegade, although dimensions will remain closer to that of the outgoing model.

What Does the Final 2016 Jeep Patriot Offer?

The 2016 Jeep Patriot offers powerful engines, a comfortable interior, and the advanced technological features that modern drivers demand:

  • Performance The Patriot can be powered by the 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that makes 158 hp and 141 lb-ft of torque. This powerplant can be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission or a Continuously Variable Automatic transmission (CVT II). Jeep also offers a 2.4L 4-cylinder motor that can create 172 hp and 165 lb-ft of peak torque. This engine be paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission, a 6-speed automatic transmission, or the Trail Rated CVT II with Off Road Crawl Ratio for better control in challenging environments.
  • Technology The Jeep Uconnect infotainment system delivers access to plenty of enviable features like SiriusXM satellite radio service, Voice Command with Bluetooth hands-free calling, navigation, internet music streaming, and an optional Boston Acoustics sound system for a concert hall experience wherever the road takes you.
  • Capability For superior off-road performance, Jeep offers the Freedom Drive I system for Patriot 4X4 models. Freedom Drive monitors the Patriot’s traction, transferring power to any wheels that experience a loss of traction. The optional Freedom Drive II system delivers an even more aggressive 4X4 experience for those who prefer more rugged terrain and need a drivetrain that can keep up. Properly equipped the Patriot can also deliver up to 2,000 pounds of towing capacity so that you can bring the rest of your toys out to play too.
